Pimp C, whose real name was Chad Butler, has been found dead in his hotel room this morning. He was 33 years old.
Pimp C was part of the rap duo UGK and became known worldwide after his collaboration with Jay-Z on the single "Big Pimpin'".
According to TMZ.com, Pimp C was staying at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Strip in Hollywood. A 911 call was placed and when L.A. county fire responded they found Pimp C dead in bed.
L.A. homicide detectives are still investigating the matter. The cause if death is unclear at this time.
This is definitely a loss to the entire Hip-Hop community. Pimp C has influenced many southern rap artists and it's ashame that he had to go so unexpectedly, especially since UGK's last album has been their biggest success.
